Le Bistrot des Clercs
During the beautiful time of the year the tables are moved to the platform in front of the Bonaparte fountain
Set in the old town, the Bistrot des Clercs is a well known place of Valence. Surrounded by varnished woodwork and tall windows shaded by « bonne femme » curtains, it receives crowds of lovers of generous good cooking in a cordial atmosphere. Loetitia and her young team are there around the tables beneath a row of lighted globes.
The Bistrot is in the great tradition of the town’s brasseries. It exudes good appetite and happiness. During the beautiful time of the year the tables are moved to the platform in front of the Bonaparte fountain.
In fact, a very young lieutenant lived here, a futur emperor, who discovered at the same time in Valence, the philosophers and the girls.
On the table in front of a nice glass of wine and a peppermill, one lets oneself appreciate the magic of the old brasseries. The smiling plate offers nothing more or less than the robust cooking of a brasserie, at once elegant, hearty and fit for gourmets.
